Events

These are events where I’ll be teaching, or that are just so great I think you should know about them.  If you have questions about upcoming events, please email kgifford108@gmail.com

Teaching in Santa Rosa

I’ll be guest teaching at Ella Rozett’s interfaith meditation group in Santa Rosa for six weeks, starting February 12.  The focus of the classes will be on meditation as a means to awakening.  We will sit together as well as having time for discussion and practice-related questions.  All are welcome.

Details:  The group meets on Tuesdays at 11:00 at Saint Rose Church, 398 10th Street (at the corner of B Street), Santa Rosa, CA.

UnRetreat II

The UnRetreat is a wonderful and unique event, based on the idea that we can take our meditation practice to a new level in a community of like-minded fellow practitioners, without the typical power dynamics that can characterize a traditional retreat.  We plan and execute the retreat together as a group, using a set of principles designed to promote personal purpose, autonomy and mastery over the course of the retreat.  It’s also a lot of fun.

This year the UnRetreat will be held in Waterville Valley, NH from May 28 to June 6.  I’ll be teaching there, as will a number of dear friends and excellent teachers, including Alan Chapman and Ellen Tynan.  I hope you’ll join us.  More details on the UnRetreat here; more about UnRetreat principles here.

Past events:

Noon Meditation This Fall

On Wednesdays this fall I’ll be leading noontime meditation sessions at Thrive Yoga Studio in Sebastopol.  These won’t be “meditation classes” per se, but are intended to support our meditation practices by coming together to sit as a group.  We’ll have time for discussion and questions following our sitting period for those who wish to stay.  You can come for the entire fall, or drop in to individual sessions, as suits your schedule.  More details are here.

Workshop: The Inner/Outer Adventure

I’ll be co-teaching this workshop with my very good friend Ellen Tynan.

The workshop will be held over the weekend of September 28 – 30 at the beautiful IONS campus in Petaluma, CA.  Details are here.
